Level-Up Experiences

The following are recommended ways for you to practice and level-up your technology skills this month within your current job.  Feel free to use these suggestions or come up with your own. Once you have finished an experience, be sure to add it to your accomplishment tracker.

Watch and implement a training

  • Prepare - Spend some time working on the training listed above, or do your own research to find a LinkedIn learning course that will help you learn an applicable technology skill (sometimes the shorter ones, 10-15 minutes are the best!). For example, check out this course on syncing events from google calendar to outlook.
  • Take Action - Implement the skill that you learned in your training and apply it to your regular routine.
  • Reflect - As you continue learning new skills, consider if there are specific skills that would benefit you in your future career. What can you do to develop and maintain those skills?

Use technology to improve productivity

  • Prepare - Consider your regular tasks at work. Are there any that could be improved or sped up by learning or improving a skill?
  • Take Action - In your next 1:1 meeting with your supervisor or even on your own, pick a few tasks to discuss and brainstorm how technology can be utilized to accomplish each task more efficiently.
  • Reflect - What other skills could be developed to improve your work day? How can you share these skills with your coworkers? How are you highlighting these skills in interviews/on your resume?

Technology Tips

  • Prepare - Research technology tips which are usually 1-liners with a helpful shortcut or trick that can help anyone be more snappy with their use of technology. (check out this article to get started).
  • Take Action - Begin compiling your own list of technology tips and continue to add to it as you learn additional techniques and tips. Don’t be afraid to share it with your co-workers!
  • Reflect - How have these tips impacted your work day? What other steps could you take to improve productivity?
