Level-Up Experiences

The following are recommended ways for you to practice and level-up your professionalism skills this month within your current job.  Feel free to use these suggestions or come up with your own. Once you have finished an experience, be sure to add it to your accomplishment tracker.

Reflect on Your Image

  • Prepare - Talk with your supervisor about the expected dress code while at work.
  • Take Action - Make any necessary adjustments to your dress to fit within the dress code.
  • Reflect - How did your change in dress affect your mindset at work?

Show you are Dependable

  • Prepare - Once you are regularly completing your normally assigned tasks, meet with your supervisor and ask for additional assignments or even suggest tasks that you think would be helpful.
  • Take Action - Complete both the old and new assigned tasks in a timely manner and to the best of your ability.
  • Reflect - How can you continue to meet and exceed expectations?

Practice Professional Communication

  • Prepare - Take some time to practice and build your professional communication skills.
  • Take Action - Seek out an opportunity to conduct an informational interview, lead a meeting, or meet with your supervisor to practice your professional communication.
  • Reflect - How does your professional communication differ from your day-to-day communication? Do you act differently when you focus on professional communication?
