Level-Up Experiences

The following are recommended ways for you to practice and level-up your Leadership abilities this month within your current job. Feel free to use these suggestions or come up with your own. Once you have finished an experience, be sure to add it to your accomplishment tracker.

Lead a Project

  • Prepare: Whether it be in school, in a club, or at work, brainstorm different projects you could lead.
  • Take Action: Ask permission from your supervisor, teacher, or whoever is in charge to lead the project! Get others involved and make a plan to effectively lead the project to success.
  • Reflect: Reflect on how you acted as a leader and if there are any specific leadership skills you can improve on.

Teach Someone Something New:

  • Prepare: Brainstorm your skills and how they might be beneficial to others.
  • Take Action: When the opportunity arises, volunteer to help teach someone something new! This could be a coworker, a friend, or in the right circumstances - a stranger!
  • Reflect: Evaluate if your teaching was effective. Ask if the person you taught feels confident in what you taught them.

Lead a Meeting:

  • Prepare: Think of a meeting you might be involved in. This can be at work or possibly a meeting for a group project in class.
  • Take Action: Take initiative and lead the meeting! If it is at work, ask your supervisor if you can step up. If it is in class, take the initiative by planning the group's meeting.
  • Reflect: How did leading this meeting change your experience? Reflect on skills you might need to improve for next time.
