Level-Up Experiences
The following are recommended ways for you to practice and level-up your communication skills this month within your current job. Feel free to use these suggestions or come up with your own. Once you have finished an experience, be sure to add it to your accomplishment tracker.
Public Speaking
Prepare: Public speaking is an important skill to learn. Take LinkedIn learnings or find other ways to learn about how to give a great presentation! Outline the key points you need to present on, practice your presentation/delivery, and anticipate questions that might arise.
Take Action: Next time you have a presentation at work or in class, review what you learned and do your best to apply it. Take any opportunity to publicly speak that you can! The more practice you have the better you will be at it!
Reflect: Reflect on how your public speaking can improve after implementing what you learned! It can be helpful to record yourself presenting or practicing to further see your strengths and weaknesses. Make note of how you can improve for next time.
Communicating with Your Supervisor
Prepare: Communicating properly with your supervisor is really important. Sharing your ideas, concerns, or accomplishments are really important! Do some research on how improve your interpersonal communication in the workplace. Schedule a 1 on 1 with your supervisor or ask them to talk more casually!
Take Action: Keep in mind what you learned and have a conversation with your supervisor.
Reflect: Reflect on how you can improve these skills for next time and what you learned.
Communicating Virtually
Prepare: Communicating virtually is becoming more and more important. Communication virtually can be emails, slack, zoom, and more. Pick a way of communicating virtually you want to improve on and learn how to do it better.
Take Action: Practice what you learned.
Reflect: Reflect on what you learned and make note of what you can improve on next time.
